L'Rain

Raised in Brooklyn, Taja Cheek is a producer, multi-instrumentalist and curator whose borderless, boundlessly inventive sound perfectly depicts New York's dense landscape of overlapping communities. She's classically trained and simultaneously nourished by New York's DIY and noise community, factors that underpin her acclaimed run of albums that began in 2017 with 'Fatigue'. And this year, she finishes off the quadrilogy with 'fata morgana', an experimental rock album that's kinked by the influence of dub and musique concrète, or a futuristic dream pop gospel that's unafraid to show its sharp claws. Either way, it's a modern classic.
