Radical Polish Arkestra (POCIĄG)
Reconstructing the repertoire of enigmatic Polish composer Tadeusz Sielanka, whose work was only discovered a decade ago by avant-garde clarinetist Wacław Zimpel in the Delhi Public Library, Radical Polish Arkestra is somewhere between a research outfit and an arkestra. Comprised of various seasoned players, including drummers Hubert Zemler and Piotr Gwadera and violinists Maciej Filipczuk (of Lautari) and Marcin Lorenc (of Odpoczno), the group looks for the connections between village music and the avant-garde, scrutinizing Sielanka's interest in the harmonies between Polish folk and Hindustani classical music.
