WARSZAWA by Piotr Kurek & Wilhelm Sasnal with Śląsk Song & Dance Ensemble

Commissioned by Unsound, 'WARSZAWA' references David Bowie's classic Brian Eno collaboration, written after Bowie picked up a recording of the folk song 'Helokanie' at Warsaw's central train station. For this special project, Warsaw's own Piotr Kurek will bring the song home, reworking Bowie's original with vocalists from the Śląsk Song & Dance Ensemble, accompanied by 16mm visuals from Wilhelm Sasnal, one of Poland's most prominent contemporary artists.
