DJ Lycox

At this point in his career, DJ Lycox is one of the Príncipe label's old heads. He kicked off his career over a decade ago as a member of Tia Maria Produções when he was just 16, and since then has helped to define his own mutant strains of kuduro and tarraxho, fusing those guiding Afro-Portuguese rhythms with drill, Brazilian funk, R&B and trap elements on last year's phenomenal 'Guetto Star'. And his debut album, 2017's 'Sonhos & Pesadelos' is still considered to be one of Príncipe's core releases, offering the Lisbon-based label a deep, sensual swagger to balance out its heady soundsystem experiments.
