Kaja Puto

Editor-in-chief of KrytykaPolityczna.pl. Journalist, editor and foreign affairs commentator specialising in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Germany. She is particularly interested in social change, urban planning and transport – especially railways. Winner of the Tomasz Mazowiecki Polish–German Journalism Award (2020), she was also nominated for the Grand Press Award (2019) and the Polish Press Agency’s Ryszard Kapuściński Award (2024). She contributes to Polish, German and international media and is associated with Krytyka Polityczna and n-ost – Network for Border Crossing Journalism. Between 2015 and 2018, Puto served as vice president of the Korporacja Ha!art publishing house. She graduated in Interfaculty Individual Studies in the Humanities and Philosophy at Jagiellonian University, and also studied Eastern Studies in Berlin and Tbilisi.
