Moin

Old heads might recall that Moin, the club-informed rock outfit brainstormed by Raime's Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews and iconic percussionist Valentina Magaletti, played their very first show together at Unsound, and this year they're back for their well-deserved lap of honor. Since their live debut, they've released a colorful sequence of genre-dissolving full-lengths and EPs, including last year's wiry 'You Never End' and the energetic 'Belly Up', a grungy set of curdled no-wave and deadened hardcore jazz gestures that's helped pave the trio's way to global notoriety. There's a good reason why Pitchfork's glowing review described the former as sounding "as much like techno as it does Fugazi."
