KAVARI

An innovative, prolific producer who can count Aphex Twin and yeule among her legion of fans, Glasgow-based club futurist KAVARI pushes relentlessly towards chaos, always pulling things back at the last moment. There's so much going on in her productions, that channel the transgressive queer energy of Coil and Throbbing Gristle through the deranged, bass-heavy beatscapes of Skrillex or Hudson Mohawke that it's hard to keep up. Her last collection of "lost cuts" rewires Playboi Carti, 2hollis, Charli XCX and Clams Casino bangers by blowing out the edges and tainting the beats with ear-bleed noise, and her DJ sets are equally elastic - a space where gabber, grime, pop, dungeon techno, EBM and EDM can exist, evolve and mutate in awkward unison.
