Nina Michnik
Nina Michnik is an Arabist, educator, and researcher with a strong record of activism, social engagement, and critical inquiry. She is the co-founder of the association Podróżnych Ugościć, initially created in response to the humanitarian crisis on the Polish–Belarusian border. Today, the association supports refugees both in closed detention centres and after their release, providing accompaniment, advocacy, and practical assistance. Currently, she is engaged in the Polish–Palestinian Justice Initiative Kaktus, which supports survivors of the genocide in Gaza in their efforts to evacuate, rebuild their lives in new countries, and – above all – fight for the recognition of their rights and justice. Within the initiative, she conducts research on corporate complicity in genocide, with a particular focus on the international arms trade and its role in sustaining systems of oppression and violence. She is also an editorial consultant for the Polish edition of The Palestine Laboratory.
