DISCUSSION: BEYOND BORDERS, BEYOND MYTHS

Description

Migration is as old as human history, yet today it is increasingly instrumentalised in political battles. In Poland, this has become starkly visible: the ongoing humanitarian crisis on the Polish–Belarusian border, where refugees are trapped between state violence and indifference; the shifting position of Ukrainians, once welcomed in the wake of Russian aggression but now facing growing hostility; and a broader atmosphere in which populist narratives spread fear instead of empathy. This discussion moves beyond myths and panic to highlight real human experiences, asking how culture can respond to rising nationalism while upholding values of solidarity and dignity. Guests include humanitarian and human rights worker Tomasz Thun-Janowski, Tahmina Rajabova (Fundacja Ocalenie), Ukrainian journalist Vira Baldyniuk and [TBC]. Moderated by journalist Kaja Puto.
