Description

Following their acclaimed show at this year’s Ephemera Festival in Warsaw, as well as the release of an album, GHSTING comes to Unsound. Created by Polish sound artist Aleksandra Słyż and performance artist Alex Freiheit (half of SIKSA), this unique work blends concert, performance, theatre and spoken word, all set against the backdrop of a sinister Eastern Europe hotel. The duo will be joined by dancers Pola Nikiel and Katarzyna Sikora and lighting designer Jacqueline Sobiszewski.

The Providenza Ensemble – a commission from Warp and presented with Carhartt WIP – brings together Kelman Duran, Loraine James and Puce Mary. Together, they recently embarked on a week-long residency in the Corsican mountains at Providenza with Manchester Collective director, composer and violinist Rakhi Singh. Their aim is to create a work that merges non-classical artists with the classical world, tonight presented with Kraków’s Sinfonietta Cracovia, the acclaimed string ensemble connected to Unsound for more than fifteen years.

Trading the cellos and violins for electric guitars, we close the night with a bang, courtesy of New York experimental rock outfit YHWH Nailgun, who’ve been making waves with their outstanding AD 93 album 45 Pounds and their explosive live performances.

The event is co-financed by the Polish National Foundation.
