Talk: James Hoff on HOBO UFO (v. Chernobyl)

October 13, 2017 - October 13, 2017 | Pałac Krzysztofory

James Hoff is a New York-based artist at work in many different media, including music-making, painting and publishing. His records include 2014’s Blaster on PAN, and he is a founder and editor of Primary Information, an enterprise publishing artist’s books from the 1960s to the present. Hoff discusses his new project HOBO UFO (v. Chernobyl), an audiovisual work that focuses on a recently Google-mapped town in Chernobyl's Zone of Exclusion, exploring the notion of a dead zone and ways mobile technology has shaped our concept and value of nature. In conversation with ARTnews editor Andy Battaglia.
