Underground Resistance

A seminal collective of techno musicians from Detroit, Undergound Resistance was established in the late 1980’s by Mike Banks, Jeff Mills and Robert Hood. They are known for being militantly political, combining a strict anti-mainstream DIY business model and desire to spur activism. Whilst Mills and Hood left the collective in 1992 to pursue solo careers, Banks continued to lead UR, releasing EP’s such as “Return of Acid Rain” and “Galaxy to Galaxy”. In 1998, UR dropped “Interstellar Fugitives”, exploring a sound Banks called “High Tech Funk”. UR will present a special version of their uncompromising “Interstellar Fugitives” live show, taking the Unsound 2013 “Interference” theme into account.
