Unsound & Ephemera present Ben Frost and Martyna Basta

Warsaw’s Ephemera Festival and Kraków’s Unsound present Ben Frost, with opening act Martyna Basta.

Ben Frost appears following the release of his new album ‘Scope Neglect’ via Mute, which leans sonically into metal while also drawing from minimalism, and features collaborations from Greg Kubacki of Car Bomb and Liam Andrews of My Disco. Long connected to Unsound (a live recording of Ben’s 2008 show is the first-ever festival podcast), in 2010 the festival commissioned Ben to team up with Daníel Bjarnason and Sinfonietta Cracovia to create a score for the book and film ‘Solaris’, later released on Bedroom Community. Ben has also worked with Unsound, Sinfonietta Cracovia and Polish musicians to create scores for the TV series ‘Dark’, ‘1899’ and ‘Fortitude’. This is his first-ever live show in Warsaw.

Martyna Basta is a Kraków-based composer and musician with an interest in diaristic free expression. She brought guitar and zither into the frame on her acclaimed 2023 album ‘Slowly Forgetting, Barely Remembering’ (Warm Winters), and at last year’s Unsound collaborated with claire rousay. Since then, she released the EP ‘Diaries Beneath Fragile Glass’ (Stroom), recorded in Turku, Finland.
