Kode9 + MFO

As one of the key originators of dubstep and the founder of the pioneering UK label Hyperdub, Kode9 (Steve Goodman) requires little introduction. He is probably best known for his recordings and live shows with Spaceape. He also holds a Ph.D. in philosophy, and is the author of "Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect and the Ecology of Fear."

Kode9's show at Unsound promises to be something special, transporting him out of the club context and into the seated environment of a futuristic, communist-era cinema.

There, Kode9 will link up with Berlin video artist / VJ MFO to present a live homage to the classic sci-fi film "La Jetee" by French director Chris Marker. Made in 1962, this short deals with time travel, memory and nuclear war. It's a film that Kode9 has had a long connection with - it actually provided the inspiration for the title of his debut album "Memories of The Future"
