Max Richter

Born in Germany and living in UK Max Richter combines a classical and electronic arrangements with a focus on piano, to create something he describes as post-classical music. Richter began his music career in the 90s as a member Piano Circus as well as a contributor to Future Sound of London albums. His first solo album, Memoryhouse, was released in 2002. Next came The Blue Notebooks, inspired by Kafka’s work, and Songs From Before, including a guest appearance by rock legend, Robert Wyatt. All have been critically acclaimed, positioning Richter as one of the most important musicians working in his field. Richter also composes film scores, for work by Derek Jarman, Ali Folman and Stanislaw Mucha. In 2005 he produced Lookaftering, the long awaited return album of the 60’ folkish legend, Vashti Bunyan. The latest Richter’s album, 24 Postcards in Full Color, was recently released by Fat Cat. For Unsound, Richter will perform with a string duo.
