The Hungarian vocalist Attila Csihar is to perform with Sunn O))) at Unsound.
With his distinct voice, often described as “operatic”, Csihar is perhaps best known in Poland for his work with the band Mayhem. Csihar is also famed for his involvement in experimental music projects, having performed and recorded with the likes of Australian guitarist Oren Ambarchi.
Atila has recorded vocals for various Sunn O))) albums, including their latest work, “Monoliths and Dimensions”, widely regarded by music critics as one of the best albums of 2009, an album that has dramatically expanded their fan base around the world.
Sunn O))) will perform with the sludge metal duo Eagle Twin, who also release on Southern Lord Records. The show will take place in the renovated Teatr Laznia, a post-industrial venue in the heart of Nowa Huta. Information on expanded public transport to and from the venue from the centre of Krakow will soon be released.
The concert is part of an Unsound series exploring an interaction between music and Krakow architecture, organized in partnership with the Krakow Festival Office.
Keeping in mind Sunn O)))’s motto, “Maximum volume yields maximum results”, earplugs will be available for free at the door.
