ECAS LAUNCH TOMORROW AT TODAYS ART FESTIVAL IN THE HAGUE!

Unsound is a co-founding member of European Cities of Advanced Sound and related arts (ECAS). ECAS is a network of independent non-profit organizations dedicated to advancing sound cultures, music and related arts. ECAS aims to spark dialogue, knowledge exchange and mutual support amongst these organizations and to support them in building up sustainable infrastructures to promote, sponsor and mobilize (often experimental and critical) advanced sound and related arts within their specific localities and contexts. The ECAS network currently consists of 18 member festivals from 15 European countries.
An official launch of the next five years of ECAS collaborations takes place at Todays Art tomorrow.
For more info head to the Todays Art website – and check out the rest of their excellent program while you’re at it.

Here’s also a reminder that ECAS is calling out for projects responding to the theme "Festival as Lab". We’re looking for new, interdisciplinary work that treats the festival environment as a laboratory and experimental space. The commissioned project will be awarded a €10,000 grant and shown at various festivals in 2011, starting with Club Transmediale in Berlin, FutureEverything in Manchester and CYNETART in Dresden. The deadline for submissions is 24 October.

ECAS is supported by the European Union within the CULTURE PROGRAMME (2007-2013).
