It's time for the fourth round of artists announcements for Unsound Krakow 2012, celebrating our festival's 10th edition. As well as teasing out our cryptic theme THE END, the new additions also emphasize the focus on USA artists and connections with Unsound Festival New York.

Chicago's outre house legend Jamal Moss aka HIEROGLYPHIC BEING will join forces with Brooklyn's ITAL to give the WORLD DEBUT of their UNSOUND COMMISSIONED live collaboration INTERPLANETARY PROPHETS. Both are known for raw, visceral live performances, so this should be something special. As already announced, HIEROGLYPHIC BEING will also present a solo set.

Yet another special UNSOUND COMMISSION, ANDY VOTEL will present KLEKSPLOITATION, an homage to "PAN KLEKS", the Polish trilogy of films for children, coaxing its darker side to the surface. The original films were scored by ANDRZEJ KORZYŃSKI, a Warsaw composer whose catalogue VOTEL is releasing on his FINDERS KEEPERS label, including music to ANDRZEJ ŻUŁAWSKI'S incredible "POSSESSION". ANDY VOTEL will also DJ, using CLASSIC POLISH ANIMATION for visuals.

Berlin's SHED just released "THE KILLER" on Modeselektor's label 50WEAPONS, exploring further dark, evocative techno. He will play live, on the same bill as EMPTYSET, a UK duo blending drone, techno and harsh noise. Their live show is something to behold, featuring stunning visuals by Joanie Lemercier, from ANTIVJ.

With a very different vibe, ONEMAN has just dropped FABRICLIVE 64, and is known as one of the best DJs in the UK for his high-speed sets that rapidly shift between genres. This is a guy who knows how to get a party moving - and we don't mean the end-of-the-world variety.

Also far from apocalyptic, Brooklyn's DUCKTAILS will present their hazy, ever-evolving version of "pop". A project from Matthew Mondanile of the band Real Estate, their show celebrates an upcoming EP on DOMINO. The same night will also feature TEENGIRL FANTASY, a duo that has generated much buzz for their R&S album "TRACER", with music combining techno, house and elements of R&B to create a futuristic sound.

We've also been working with various labels we admire, to select artists and present special events.

Having already announced JULIA HOLTER, we're also presenting the first Polish show from fellow RVNG INTL. artist HOLLY HERNDON. You may not have heard of her yet - but we're certain that will change with the release of her LP "MOVEMENT", a stunning blend of experimentation and dance music that flows and fragments in unique ways.

BLACKEST EVER BLACK are not only bringing VATICAN SHADOW to THE END, but also BLACK RAIN, the pioneering post-industrial project project by Stuart Argabright, also known as a member of Ike Yard and Death Comet Crew. BLACK RAIN will present work from the cyberpunk artifact "NOW I'M JUST A NUMBER", as well pieces from his UNSOUND FESTIVAL NEW YORK collaboration with Ukrainian artist KOTRA.

VESSEL has also been confirmed. Alongside EVIAN CHRIST, he will represent the label TRI ANGLE RECORDS, playing a show to mark the release of his album "ORDER OF NOISE." Twisting techno and house into alien forms, this is music full of ideas.

Born in Senegal and raised in Kuwait, FATIMA AL QADIRI lives in New York. She has released on TRI ANGLE as AYSHAY, under her name on UNO NYC and FADE TO MINF (forthcoming) – and is set to give one of her distinctive DJ sets, potentially incorporating everything from mainstream Western pop to footwork and Muslim anthems.

SPECTRUM SPOOLS is a side label of MEGO, curated by Emeralds member John Elliot. We've selected two of their best artists. This first is CONTAINER, who Elliot describes as: "like surgeon on DMT covering cybotron jams with a bubble machine." Meanwhile, BEE MASK performs mind-melting synthetic psychedelia that blends drone and the kaleidoscopic.

The most extensive cooperation this year is with PAN, presenting a showcase in cooperation with Berlin's CTM FESTIVAL. Berlin-based HEATSICK will present the WORLD DEBUT of EXTENDED PLAY, a 3 hour set performed on a solitary Casio through a myriad of effects to create a "funky wormhole." NHK'KOYXEN, from Japan, will also veer toward dance oriented material, whilst incorporating abstract/experimental elements. The UK's HELM breaks down acoustic and electronic sounds into a dense aural landscape, while Brooklyn-based BEN VIDA performs "psycho-acoustic trickery," utilizing frequencies to to stimulate the bones inside your ear. BASS CLEF (aka Some Truths) is set to release a 12" on PAN in October, and his Unsound 2012 show celebrates this. Finally, the head of PAN BILL KOULIGAS will present a DJ set, no doubt exploring connections between experimental and dance music that give you an idea of where his head and ears are at. We have another final artist announcement coming up soon, including a bunch of excellent POLISH ARTISTS. Also approaching are details of the day program of talks and panels, as well as an film program devoted to the apocalypse again curated by Unsound partners JIGOKU.
