Kode9 will perform live for the first time in Poland at Unsound on October 24th. The show, "Bass Fiction", is with MC Space Ape and will take the audience on a sonic, bass-heavy journey.
Kode 9 is known not only as one of the leading artists working in dubstep, but also as the owner of the Hyperdub label, which releases Burial, The Bug and Warrior Queen among others. His intense live shows with Space Ape are renowned for the way they draw out tension created with the use of bass frequencies.
The night's line up will also include the Dutch artist 2562, who draws inspiration from both dubstep and dub techno. His show will also be a Polish first.
Called "Bass Menace, Bass Relief", the night will explore other recent tendencies in bass heavy music, with leading artists and new discoveries that defy easy categorization.
The news follows the announcement that ambient and post-classical legends Biosphere and Stars of The Lid and will headline Unsound 2009, also playing Polish debuts on October 23rd. Icelander Johann Johannson will also perform at Unsound.
A fuller version of the line up will be released in May.
