LATEST ROUND OF UNSOUND KRAKOW 2010 ANNOUNCEMENTS!

The latest round of Unsound announcements has extended the Krakow festival’s range and diversity even further, whilst remaining firmly tied to artists creating innovative music.
First up, the Swedish duo Wildbirds & Peacedrums will unite their future/primitive soul music with a 14-stong choir made up of members of Schola Cantorum Reykjavík Chamber Choir and Krakow’s Octava Ensemble. The arrangement of these choral voices is by Icelandic artist Hildur Gudnadottir, as featured on the latest Wildbirds and Peacedrums EP Retina. This was produced in the Icelandic Bedroom Community studios by Valgeir Sigurðsson, recorded by Ben Frost. You can watch / hear a wonderful song from this formation here.
This show takes place on 21.10.2010 in the majestic 16th century St Catherine’s Church, with a performance by renowned Canadian sound sculptor Tim Hecker.
American band Mice Parade have also been confirmed, performing on the same night as Laetitię Sadier, the French vocalist from Stereolab, who will present songs from her upcoming solo album “The Trip”, to be released on Drag City.

Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and singer Silje Nes will also play. She releases on the UK label Fat Cat, along with Mice Parade. These are all Polish debuts.
On the techno side, the exceptionally talented Romanian house artist Petre Insperescu (Pedro) will be the first producer from the [a:rpia:r] label to perform in Poland. The Detroit DJ/producer Mike Huckaby has also been added to the bill, spinning records alongside his younger counterpart Kyle Hall.
As for the Bass Mutations night, Austrian rhythm explorer Dorian Concept will present his unique mix of styles, embracing everything from cutting edge electronic music and abstract hip hop to jazz.
Grime pioneer Terror Danjah has been lately receiving his dues with a retrospective on Planet Mu and releases on Hyperdub, including an upcoming album. You’ll find out how he’s influenced a younger generation of artists, and why you’ll soon be hearing a lot more of this guy.
Rising Lithuanian star Eleven Tigers will play live, celebrating his new album “Clouds Are Tigers”. Last but not least, Krakow’s very own Supra1 will enter the fray, hot on the heels of an EP released by New York’s Trouble & Bass.
And that’s not all – not by a long shot! More names and surprises coming very soon!
