UNSOUND 2009 TO INCLUDE KIDS’ ELECTRONIC MUSIC WORKSHOP AS WELL AS MUSIC JOURNALISM WORKSHOP

It’s never too early to start working as an electronic music producer – so thinks Lukatoyboy.
Luka is the brains behind a workshop on electronic music for children that started out as past of the Serbian festival Dis-Patch. The idea is to teach and encourage children to make music with gadgets such as Nintendo games consoles, turning them into instruments. At an outcome of the workshop, the kids will give a public show at Unsound, making them by far the youngest performers in the festival’s 6-year history.
Unsound will also host a music journalism workshop given by Philip Sherburne (The Wire, Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, The New York Times) and Andy Battaglia (The Onion, Pitchfork, Spin). The music journalism workshop is co-presented by the Polish Cultural Institute in New York.
The workshops take place Kino 18 and are free, but require registration. Please get in early, as places as limited, by writing to: workshops@unsound.pl
