Unsound 2010 Krakow is now over. Thank you to artists and audiences alike, who made it possible.
Already the press is coming in. The Guardian has called it "a brilliant festival that raised interesting questions." URB has written that Unsound was "Horrific and heart-warming, in the best way imaginable… absolutely astonishing." Poland's Gazeta Wyborcza has said: "One of the best Polish festivals devoted to new music... Unsound is a multidimensional festival and is not afraid of taking risks." Expect more reviews from Fact Magazine, The Wire and Resident Advisor among others in the coming days, weeks and months.
As we slowly recover, we've already begun work on Unsound Festival New York, which takes place at the start of April. Further details will be released in the very near future.
This also seems a timely moment to remind everyone that along with The Czesław Miłosz International Literary Festival, Unsound has been made a part of Krakow's “6 senses” project, showcasing the city as a European cultural capital.
The "6 Senses" project began in 2008, bringing together a group of prestigious festivals from various fields of art. These include Sacrum Profanum, Misteria Paschalia, Film Music Festival, ArtBoom Tauron Festival, Selector Festival, International Theatre Festival “Divine Comedy”, Off Plus Camera, Month of Photography, Polish Music Festival and the Joseph Conrad International Literature Festival. The "6 Senses" project is not only a tool to promote these events, but also a guarantee of their development through a long-term plan.
We're both happy and thankful for this, underlining as it does the appreciation that the city of Krakow has for our festival.
Bring on 2011!
