The 10th edition of Unsound is taking place between 14-21 October in Krakow - but our friends in New York can also attend events we are co-presenting this month.

On October 9, the Guggenheim Museum and Unsound will host a variety show of talks, performances, films, readings, statements, and personal reflections by architects, artists, planners, scientists, politicians, philosophers and musicians as a finale reflecting upon the issues explored within the five editions of the off-site exhibition series stillspotting nyc.

Program participants will have the opportunity to join a larger conversation about how human-made environments can be reconceived, reshaped, and redesigned to provide increased opportunities for calm and stillness, and will be invited to revisit elements of the site-specific commissions from each of the five New York City boroughs recreated in the Guggenheim rotunda during the evening of the stillspotting nyc: finale.

Those involved include Sergei Tcherepnin, Emily Thompson, Jana Winderen, Robert A. F. Thurman, David Suisman, Charles Renfro, Ben Marcus, Jon Mueller and Hillel Schwartz. The full program can be found here.

The next night Unsound is also co-presenting an event at BAM's Rose Cinema: a screening of the 1923 film "The Ancient Law" with a live performance of a new soundtrack by pioneering multimedia artist Thomas Köner.

This rarely screened silent film follows the ambitions of Baruch Mayr, the son of an orthodox rabbi from Galicia who decides to break from the family tradition and leave the shtetl to become an actor in Vienna.
