UNSOUND FESTIVAL NEW YORK 2011 WEBSITE LAUNCHED! TICKETS TO SHOWS ON SALE!

The website for Unsound Festival New York 2011 has now been launched, with a full schedule of performances, ranging from experimental, techno and dubstep nights in Brooklyn, to the large-scale events in the Lincoln Center.
Unsound Festival New York is generating a lot of interest about town and internationally. The influential electronic music website Resident Advisor placed it at number one position of festivals around the world in April, writing, "In only its second year, Unsound New York has already emerged as one of the most forward-thinking festivals in electronic music. An offshoot of an event started in Krakow, Unsound New York brings together club sounds both physical and cerebral."
The Village voice has described our line up as "super-intimidating", which we're taking as a compliment. They wrote: "There's a hell of a lot going on here; almost too much to process, which is very likely the point. After several days of pre-game "labs" ("events, workshops, and panel discussions . . .), the show officially runs April 6-10, with an opening night gala at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall starring the Polish group Sinfonietta Cracovia, paying tribute to Krzysztof Penderecki and Steve Reich before debuting a new piece titled "Music for Solaris." Other highlights include electronic-music pioneer Morton Subotnick reprising his 1967 album Silver Apples of the Moon, the Bunker hosting a "Bass Mutations" night starring dubstep luminary Kode9 at Public Assembly, the No Fun Festival's Carlos Giffoni curating a night of experimental electronic music at Issue Project Room, and, as a closer, a Blackened Music fete starring British "dark ambient" star Lustmord.. find something you've never heard of (which shouldn't be hard), and then go hear about it."
Tickets are available for almost all events, with information on the Unsound Festival New York 2011 website.

Unsound Festival New York is presented by Fundacja Tone, Polish Cultural Institute in New York and Goethe-Institute New York.

Unsound Opening Night is presented with Sacrum Profanum and organized with the Krakow Festival Office and Mickiewicz Institute.
