UNSOUND STARTS THIS SUNDAY! COMPETITION FOR FREE TICKETS TO OPENING EVENT!

The final countdown to Unsound Festival 2011 has begun, with the opening event taking place this Sunday 9th October, followed by a packed and varied week of events that have attracted a great deal of attention both across Poland and internationally.
Resident Advisor listed Unsound at number two place in the world's best events for October, stating "among the most creative and tightly curated events in the world of electronic music." Fact Magazine recently enthused: "an immaculately curated line-up of live performers and DJs, ranging from hard-edged experimentalists to purveyors of out-and-out party music… Unsound makes full use of Krakow’s vast array of interesting spaces, meaning you get to experience in churches, galleries, cafes, museums, clubs and the like, as opposed to just a characterless warehouse or a muddy field." The Quietus wrote: "Already carrying a reputation for bringing together some of the most exciting, genre-spanning line-ups on the festival circuit, this year they've continued the trend." Dummy simply said: "Unsound Festival is our favorite… utterly unmissable."
To keep up with huge demand for passes, we've added extras not once but twice, with the last remaining ones now on sale. Tickets to individual tickets also remain, but those to some events are going fast - so always better to purchase in advance if possible. Remaining tickets will be available in the Unsound Festival Office and at the door.
We're offering some free tickets to the opening event on Sunday at Krakow's Engineering Museum. "Oj, Nie Mogę Się Zatrzymać!" (1975, dir. Zbigniew Rybczyński) will be accompanied by musicians Felix Kubin and Macio Moretti, utilizing the score's original musique concrète sounds. The silent Soviet-era sci-fi film "Aelita, Queen of Mars" (1924, dir. Yakov Protazanov) will also be screened with a live score, performed by The Generator Analogue Orchestra, created especially for the festival with legendary Polish musician/producer Wojcek Czern at the helm.
To be in the running, please head to our Facebook page, look for the relevant post and "Like" it. If you're a winner, we'll get back by Friday.
We hope to see you soon in Krakow…

PS - Also a reminder that there will be free transport to take people to and from Teatr Laznia Nowa for Unsound's two main club nights, should you need it. Info is available on line in the Transport & Accommodation section for the 2011 festival.
