UNSOUND TO PRESENT "FESTIVAL WITHIN FESTIVAL" AT THE ADELAIDE ARTS FESTIVAL IN AUSTRALIA

Unsound Krakow is over and the reviews are coming in, people are still wondering if "The End" really means THE END, but we're not resting yet. We have a couple of very special events coming up in countries far from Poland, the first of which has just been announced.

The Adelaide Festival, the oldest arts festival in Australia, has invited Unsound to program three days of events in March 2013. Dubbed Unsound Adelaide, the concerts will showcase Unsound-commissioned works and artists our festival has become associated with via our Krakow and New York editions.

Adelaide Festival Artistic Director David Sefton has said “Without question, Unsound is one of the most interesting things happening in music today. I am delighted to be able to present this ‘Festival within a Festival’ and for Australia to see these extraordinary artists.”

Taking place between 14 - 17 March, Unsound Adelaide will include "Solaris" by Ben Frost & Daniel Bjarnason, performed with the the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, with film manipulations by Brian Eno & Nick Robertson. Other Unsound-commissioned works include "Trinity", by Biosphere and Lustmord with visuals by MFO, as well as "Concealed", presented by Demdike Stare and Michael England (visuals) and performed with string players from the Zephyr Quartet and Friends.

We will also present Daniel Lopatin and Tim Hecker's collaboration, Robin Fox's laser/sound show, James Kirby's V/VM and The Caretaker projects, Emeralds, Actress, pole, Lustmord solo and Ben Frost solo.

We're both proud and happy to be part of the Adelaide Arts Festival in 2013. This is particularly true as Unsound's origins can also be traced back to Australia, when Unsound was part of the Wagga Space Program from 2001 until 2006.
