Bendik Giske (WARSZAWA)

Over the course of three albums, all released on the powerhouse Norwegian imprint Smalltown Supersound, Bendik Giske has developed a signature sound that is, at this point, completely unmistakable. He draws from gamelan music, from techno and from avant-garde jazz, expressing his physicality and vulnerability through the saxophone, but never taking the road well traveled. On his last album, Giske worked with Beatrice Dillon to capture his instrument's most hidden facets, later collaborating with artists like Aya, Wacław Zimpel and Hanne Lippard to extend the range even further.
