Tianzhuo Chen (aka ASIANDOPEBOYS) & Siko Setyanto present Moyang 先祖 & Seaman 漁師
Opis
Unsound 2026 opens on 2 October, and we can think of no more fitting way to begin than with the immersive new production by Tianzhuo Chen (aka ASIANDOPEBOYS) and dancer-choreographer Siko Setyanto. If you've experienced Chen's previous works – such as the hybrid theatre-rave spectacle TRANCE or its eight-hour companion PHYSIS – you'll already know why we're so excited to present this latest collaboration.
Moyang 先祖 & Seaman 漁師 expands on 2024's Ocean Cage, focusing on its two central figures: Moyang (ancestor) and Seaman (fisherman). Exploring the intersection of ancient traditions and expressive dance improvisation, the work draws on the ritual language of Japanese Nō theatre while using the fluidity and expansiveness of the ocean to evoke stories that transcend borders and time. With live music by Indonesian artists Kadapat and Nova Ruth, it unfolds as a mesmerising encounter between ritual, movement and sound.
Individual tickets are on sale for the performance on Friday, 2 October. The performance on Saturday, 3 October is exclusively for Warszawa Pass and Warszawa–Kraków Combined Pass holders.
The event is presented in collaboration with Pavilion of Dance and Other Performing Arts, a branch of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
