RP Boo & Gary Gwadera / Adam Gołębiewski & Evischen

RP Boo is one of Chicago’s most legendary figures, known for his pioneering the syncopated, high-velocity sound of footwork. For Unsound New York, he teams up with percussionist Gary Gwadera to present their take on “Footberk” – a fusion of Chicago-rooted music genre with the triple metered sound of oberek, a rural Polish folk dance. To open the night, another new collaboration connecting Poland and the U.S. sees Poznań percussionist and experimental musician Adam Gołębiewski join forces with San Francisco sound artist and instrument-maker Evischen (aka Victoria Shen), who – among other things – performs with acrylic nails embedded with turntable styluses.
