Rozaly

Hailing from Curaçao, a balmy Caribbean island just north of Venezuela, Rozaly is a DJ, researcher and curator who's made it his mission to challenge stereotypes about his region's musical output while simultaneously broadening the outlook. Cutting together rhythms with deep collective resonance, like Dominica's bouyon, Garifuna sounds from Saint Vincent or Saint Lucia's soca offshoot Dennery Segment, Rozaly has racked up accolades for his series of party-starting 'Carnival Ganza' mixtapes and meticulously researched archival riddim sets released on his own DRIVE DURU label. A regular fixture at Amsterdam's Garage Noord, he's also brought his distinctive showcase of Caribbean sounds to Nyege Nyege festival and Dekmantel.
