DJ Haram

Born in New Jersey and based in Brooklyn, DJ Haram has a litany of achievements under her belt, despite only releasing her debut solo album this year. Half of 700 Bliss alongside Moor Mother, she's also a member of billy woods' Backwoodz Studioz in house crew, having produced for E U C L I D, Fielded, Armand Hammer and woods himself. And her first album, 'Beside Myself', released this year on Hyperdub, searches out some kind of harmony in her chaotic web of interests, splicing politically-charged diatribes with pneumatic Jersey club rhythms, darbuka drums and brickwall noise. It's this energy she brings to her notorious DJ sets, collaging her own vital productions with club, experimental and rap diversions from across the musical map.
