One genre's never been enough to contain Felix Manuel's creativity. As Djrum (pronounced "drum"), he's released mind-bending material on R&S Records, Houndstooth, Ilian Tape and 2nd Drop, combining dubstep, techno, IDM, ambient music, gabber, footwork, jungle, 20th century minimalism and jazz. And his latest album 'Under Tangled Silence' is his most ambitious - and most acclaimed - so far, following last year's flute-led creative reboot 'Meaning's Edge' with a tangled net of improvised piano flourishes, complex percussion and euphoric pads. As a DJ, his relative athleticism sets him apart from his peers: not only is he unafraid to jump haphazardly from tempo to tempo, but he's a limber turntablist who uses classic tricks and techniques to assist his death-defying transitions.
