Martyna Zakrzewska & J. “Mo’ong” Santoso Pribadi present Transmutation Sound

A member of the experimental duos Raja Kirik and Takkak Takkak, J. "Mo'ong" Santoso Pribadi is a Javanese composer and instrument builder who's currently based in Lithuania. He teams up with acclaimed pianist and academic Martyna Zakrzewska to bring a special organ-like instrument to life. Using discarded materials like plastic bottles, a broken accordion, hoses and a used car tire, Pribadi developed an instrument that evolves as it's played, its repurposed components reacting to shifts in temperature and pressure. And for a seasoned improviser like Zakrzewska, this adds another dimension to the performance, where the materials' memory can mutate the tones in real time.
