Cem. A

Cem A. is an artist and occasional writer based in Berlin. He is known for his collaborative performances as well as running the art meme page @freeze_magazine. He has a background in anthropology.

Cem A.'s selected solo exhibitions, performances and interventions include Kunstsammlung NRW, Düsseldorf; Barbican Centre, London; ZKM, Karlsruhe; Berlinische Galerie, Louisiana Museum, Denmark; IMPAKT Centre for Media Culture, Utrecht; STPI, Singapore; and Museum of Contemporary Art, Skopje. His work was also included in documenta fifteen, Kassel; Istanbul Modern; Mudam Luxembourg; Klima Biennale; Freiburg Biennial; Urbane Kunst Ruhr; Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro; Media Majelis Museum, Doha; and Griffith University Art Museum, Brisbane. He has held lectures at Royal College of Art, London; HEAD, Geneva; Para Site, Hong Kong; KASK, Ghent; Pratt Institute, New York; and Universität der Künste, Berlin. His writing has been published on Spike, Ibraaz, Paletten, Artnet and Ocula.
