Friends and collaborators for years, Iglooghost and daisy* (fka BABii) cement their musical partnership with a proper project, Cyst, a space for the duo to fully comb through the sounds that inspire them. On their debut album ᲘᲘ, they fixate on the strain of experimental hip-hop that emerged in the early '00s, pioneered by bands like Cannibal Ox and cLOUDDEAD. But this isn't an exercise in nostalgia; Cyst take that raw material and spray it with a coat of maximalist paint, speculating on a computer music evolution that never quite happened.
