Mexican-American artist and academic Delia Beatriz has spent the last few years excavating her history, imagining what the concept of hauntology might mean to the Mexican mind, looking back to hazy pre-Colombian memories on 2022's 'The Long Count' and syrupy cumbia rebajada on last year's 'Desaceleradas'. And on 'Potpourri', released this year on N.A.A.F.I., she tries her hand at speculative historical fiction, imagining a fusion of acid house, dub techno and tribal guarachero that never happened and opening a dialog between Detroit, Chicago, Mexico City and Monterray in the process.
