Gascia Ouzounian is a writer and sonic theorist whose work explores sound, urban life, and violence. She is the author of Stereophonica: Sound and Space in Science, Technology, and the Arts (MIT Press, 2021) and the The Trembling City (MIT Press, October 2026), which examines the role of sonic, vibrational, and atmospheric violence in contexts of war, genocide, and conflict. Ouzounian leads the Sonorous Cities project at the University of Oxford, where she is Associate Professor of Music.
