Lauren Martin

Lauren Martin is a Glasgow-born, London-based music writer, editor and interview host. Over the last 12 years, she’s written for publications such as The Guardian and VICE, been the Features Editor at DJ Mag, worked for Red Bull Music Academy across editorial, radio and the Academy’s lecture series, and lived in London, Berlin and New York City. She’s worked for SoundCloud since 2025. Throughout her career, Lauren has championed alternative sounds, with a strong focus on underground electronic music. In 2015, VICE UK published her longform feature, The VICE Oral History of Dubstep, which is considered a significant contribution to journalism on the genre. Velocity Press published Lauren Martin’s first book, Aftershock: The Seismic Impact of Dubstep, a fuller oral history and the first text-led book devoted to the genre.
