Unsound 2026 starts in Poland in just two weeks under the theme SOFT POWER, taking place in Warsaw (October 2–6) and Kraków (October 8–11), with a dedicated Unsound Train travelling between the cities on October 7. We’re now announcing the final music and discourse programme announcement, with the full schedule available on our website and the Unsound app.

Tickets for the train are now on presale to Warszawa–Kraków combo passholders, with general sales opening on Monday September 21 at 9am. The journey of more than eight hours will travel from Warsaw to Kielce, stopping for a concert by Radical Polish Arkestra, before continuing to Kraków. Onboard, there will be DJ sets in a dedicated club carriage and a special score performed by musicians throughout the journey. The Unsound Train has been developed in partnership with Berlin Atonal.

“Putting on shows in special and adapted spaces has long been a part of Unsound,” says Artistic Director Mat Schulz, “and a train is as wild as it comes.”

Note, for operational reasons beyond our control the October 4 event with Tim Hecker and Blackhaine has been combined with the later OCZKI programme, creating a massive lineup also including Pink Siifu, Debit, Hekt, gummi b2b Taan and szkoda. As for new announcements, most are centred around the expansive music programme at Hotel Forum. Blawan will perform live in the wake of a new EP on XL Recordings, and DNGDNGDNG (Dengue Dengue Dengue) from Peru by way of Berlin also appear around the release of new music. Lorenzo Senni performs a premiere show.

89 aka The Secret Lodge at Hotel Forum also features artists with 2026 albums including Shane Parish with Autechre Guitar; Memphis rapper and producer Cities Aviv, who put out Even Colder Spring; and Lolina, whose long history with Unsound dates back to shows with Hype Williams. Other shows come from the Polish improv trio Rumiński + Gołębiewski + Pospieszalski, as well as GTTRDMMRNG, Lemta Toro and Agata Zemla.

Additional Hotel Forum DJ sets include the first-ever b2b between Shannen SP b2b TAYHANA; the return of DJ Spinn, who last played with DJ Rashad at Unsound in 2011; Unsound veteran Errorsmith; and rising star k means. Another b2b features CCL and Wrocław’s Glassz, while DiV4 plays solo. Further live sets at Forum include Egyptian ABADIR, who plays with a live percussionist HOGIR, XEXA from Príncipe, and Ukrainian bijū. Meanwhile, Unsound interventions at Forum include Swedish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen and Polish percussionist Kuba Suchar.

The ambient brunch sessions at PURO Hotel Kraków Kazimierz will also make a comeback, this time featuring a quieter side of Juliana Huxtable, while Up To Date and Salon Ambientu director Dtekk will play a set drawing on his long-running love of ambient and experimental sounds.

Over in the Warsaw chapter of Unsound, Klein has been added to the Morning Glory session on Sunday, October 4, while Parisian Beatrice M. plays at the Unsound SOFT Launch Party at Jasna 1 on October 2. szkoda has been added to a second room featuring Warsaw DJs at the event in OCZKI on October 4.

Note that regarding the Liars Drum’s Not Dead show in Kraków on October 4, we now have Jacek Prościński performing with the band, alongside Macio Moretti. We also sadly have two cancellations: RABIT b2b SEXISDEATH, and Marsh crane, who was scheduled to perform b2b with username. username will now play solo.

Arca and Bobby Beethoven will join writer and artist Günseli Yalcinkaya for a conversation tracing the references, collaborations and ideas running through their distinct practices. Liz Pelly and Max Alper (Peretsky) present a live edition of their podcast Critical Listening, joined by Piotr Kurek, Wilhelm Sasnal and Unsound co-founder Mat Schulz to consider influence and reinterpretation through the story of ‘Warszawa’. Alper also leads Sampling Warsaw with sound artist Edka Jarząb, turning field recordings gathered across the city into a collectively made sample pack. Brett Solomon will run two workshops centred around digital warfare and peace.

Liam Inscoe-Jones moderates The Sound of the 2020s, bringing Gabriel Szatan, Kieran Press-Reynolds, Shannen SP, Rami Abadir and Rowan Miles and Leo Fincham of Worldpeace DMT together to ask whether this fragmented decade can be said to have a defining sound. Music writer Lauren Martin presents Aftershock, her oral history of dubstep, and will also moderate L’Rain and Juliana Huxtable as they revisit The Death of the Author for an era of personal branding, algorithmic visibility and relentless self-promotion. Psy-ops and music marketing are explored by journalists Jeremy Larson, Shaad D’Souza and Günseli Yalcinkaya.

Technology and power come into focus in Love Language Models, where Liz Pelly, Marek Poliks and Roberto Alonso Trillo join Wassim Z. Alsindi to move between AI, digital enclosure and speculative forms of resistance. Cem A’s previously announced Double Bind will bring archaeologist and ‘collapsologist’ Guy D. Middleton together with sociologist and economist Monika Kostera, moderated by Arkadiusz Półtorak, to compare ancient and contemporary visions of societal collapse.

Three projects selected through this year’s discourse open call move across occupation, folk traditions and queer nightlife. Ksenia Rybak and Daria Hetmanova examine Russia’s ‘filtration’ regime imposed on Ukrainians attempting to reach occupied territories; musicologist Ben Wheeler moderates What the Folk?, considering experimentation, preservation and appropriation with Joanna Sztucka, Łucja Siedlik, Milkweed and Debit; and writer Anjali Prashar-Savoie joins ex.sses for Club Commons, a sonic lecture-performance asking how the dancefloor’s soft power might be rerouted towards collective action.

ueer cultures and contested forms of identity continue through Fear Eats Ali, a performative reading from Edwin Nasr’s forthcoming novel, accompanied by CEM’s live guitar improvisation and followed by a conversation moderated by Michał Grzegorzek. Journalist Aga Kozak will take looksmaxxing as a starting point for a discussion of masculinity, beauty, sexuality and optimisation. Two workshops around Amy Ireland and Maya B. Kronic’s Cute Accelerationism will accompany the October premiere of its Polish edition, translated by Patryk Ciesielczyk and published by Grupa Robocza in partnership with Unsound. Led in English by Patrick Leftwich and in Polish by Ciesielczyk, they will ask what happens when cuteness is pushed beyond commodity aesthetics towards stranger forms of desire, gender and transformation.
