ABADIR & HOGIR present The Primitivist

On this year's 'The Primitivist', Berlin-based Egyptian producer Rami Abadir made a mark in the sand, refusing to follow the West on its fool's errand to colonize the future and looking back instead, pondering what lessons history might have to teach us. Already supported by Björk and Skrillex, it's precision-engineered dance music that's rooted in the cultures of the Arab world, repurposing melodies and rhythms from Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Palestine and Egypt. Abadir appears at Unsound 2026 alongside his regular collaborator Hogir Göregen, a skilled percussionist who brings his own momentum to the performance.
