Sinfonietta Cracovia

Established in the early 90s, Sinfonietta Cracovia ranks among the leading Polish and European orchestras, operating under the patronage of the Mayor of Krakow. The orchestra has also been strongly supported by Elzbieta and Krzysztof Penderecki. As well as collaborating with prominent figures in the music world, Sinfonietta Cracovia has also performed at many concert halls. These include the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Herkules Saal in Munich, Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, Casino Hall in Basil, Theatre Mogador in Paris, Conservatory Concert Hall and Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Italian theatres in Brescia, Naples and Parma, and the National Concert Hall in Warsaw. Sinfonietta Cracovia has made recordings for prestigious TV productions for BBC Classical Music Television, TV Arte and TVP, as well as albums for Arion, Dux and CD Accord.

At Unsound 2009, Sinfonietta Cracovia performed with Johann Johannson and Stars of The Lid, two concerts that were a highlight of that year’s festival, underlining the orchestra’s adventurous programming philosophy. In 2010, they participate in three events involving collaborations with Ben Frost and Daniel Bjarnasson, Marcus Fjellstrom and Elegi, as well as a performance of music related to horror film soundtracks.
