Jade Boyd

Ghostly waves of glowing video feedback give way to deteriorating generations of dubbed VHS, the v-hold slips and metamorphoses into flickering film projection, mingling with layers of video glitches ..nightmare tape loops…transmission and disintegration …a continuum from which forms, sounds and images are evoked through live manipulations …EVP messages emerge through walls of hissing electromagnetic static, approaching the precipice where the image slips away into cross-modulation and obscurity...

Jade Boyd is an artist creating audio-visual installations, often collaborating with sound artists and musicians on live projects. Possessed by the spectral electronic impulses of the signals she mixes, she channels sublimely supernatural Science Fiction, Horror and Hauntology, extracting and manipulating an array of images, cultivated from found footage, analogue-mixer generated forms, and previous generations of her own work, in an endless loop of dubs and re-dubs.

Jade has performed and shown work at The Netmage Live Media Festival 08, Bologna, Italy as a part of Overground with Simona Barbera, The DYSTOPIA European Fantastik Short Film Festival 2007, in Berlin, Paris and Madrid, in Norway, The Netherlands, Iceland, and Australia.
