Next Life

Next Life was founded in 1999 by composer and guitarist Hai Nguyen Dinh in Tønsberg, Norway using the help of an amiga computer. Now a trio with Tormod Christensen on Casio and Anders Hangård on Drums, Next Life use electronics, guitar and extend their presence with epileptic video projections and auto-lightning. Their show has been described as an intense, compact concert experience that is an aggressive collision of metal riffs and the virtual worlds of old school gaming consoles.

They take elements from black metal and turn up the volume up way beyond maximum making the audience feel invaded, completely lost in the magic of this violence.

Next Life took a slow path of evolution for their recordings - from the more electronic output of their Red End 7" (2000) and their debut, to the synth/guitar hybrid of The Lost Age (2009), to The Resurrection EP (2010) which marked the 10th anniversary of the band by adding a drummer to the line-up, these releases were the testing grounds for what would become 'Artificial Divinity,' their third  and most well received album that was released last July on the Fysisk Format label. The album saw the band explore a broader sound palette that took in both sub-channel industrial sounds and ultra-complex metal blow-outs, leading to the group reaching a new audience across Europe and up to this, their overdue first ever live performance in the USA.
