Biosphere – Gier Jensen – is one of the legendary names in ambient / electronic music. Residing for a long time in Northern Norway, near the Arctic Circle, he has found the focus to slowly and steadily create a self-contained aural universe, made up of reflective and immersive sound sculptures.

For almost fifteen years he has released a string of critically acclaimed albums, the best known being Substrata, regularly placed in the best ambient albums of all time. In 2011, it was released for the first time on vinyl. Other albums include Cirque, Dropsonde, Autour de la Lune and Shenzhou, which sources old vinyl records by Debussy. His most recent offering is 2011’s "N-Plants."

Biosphere will appear at Unsound Festival New York with dark ambient pioneer Lustmord, presenting TRINITY, a work that explores the first tests of nuclear weapons in the New Mexico desert. TRINITY is commissioned by Unsound, with partner festival Communikey.
