Ducktails is a project headed by Matthew Mondanile of the band Real Estate, a "somnolent synth kid” according to The Guardian. As Ducktails, he explores the psychedelic edges of pop music, with a deep nod towards the 1980s. Praised for the hazy, atmospheric sound of "Landscapes” and "Arcade Dynamics”, Ducktails manages to connect lo-fi melancholy and VHS nostalgia with catchy melodies.
